Xiang Li

Xiang Li came to the UK for postgraduate study after a few years working for international companies in China. Before Xiang started working with Glasgow Chamber of Commerce (GcoC) she worked for three universities and some businesses in England and Scotland as academic as well as role to support international partnerships in China.
 
The work Xiang is involved with GCoC is intended to achieve mutually beneficial relationships between Glasgow and China, specifically helping Scottish businesses sell their products in China, helping to establish new civic links between Glasgow and China, particularly in Shanghai and Beijing, and helping to introduce potential Chinese investment and projects to Scotland to generate more job opportunities.
 
“In my first visit to the city, I was really attracted by Buchanan Street and the Duke of Wellington statue, then impressed by the friendliness of the people I met and the history of the city. I felt a strong connection with Glasgow and a wish to contribute in whatever way I could.”
